FACTS+ Core Curriculum

FACTS+ is a no-nonsense, no-excuse software curriculum for serious learners only. The curriculum suite is designed for the elderly, for adults learning English as a second language, for children with attention deficits and discrimination problems, and for teachers and clinicians working with students with LD, MR, autism, and a variety of other mentally-based learning handicaps. FACTS+ is not designed for individuals with physical handicaps, since a variety of hardware add-ons are available for that population. The core software suite consists of four parts. Part 1:

10 bundled instructional modules interconnected by a central menu. Each module focuses on a specific curriculum area, basic task, and/or tool skill, including: shape and number recognition; sight and functional vocabulary training; reading comprehension (not just words, but also understanding what the words mean in context); answering both literal inferential questions; telling time; recalling/practicing critical everyday facts (name, address, phone number, etc.); recalling from memory information critical to community-based integration; generalizing learned skills; and much much more. So much to teach, so little time....

All modules are sequenced, interrelated, and use the same keyboard commands. Learn one program or module and you've learned all 10! Each module offers numerous options (sound on/off, large/small numbers and letters, cursor visible/invisible, immediate or delayed responding, etc.) to ensure that lessons and activities can be customized to meet the individual learning needs of users age 3 through 21. In addition, most modules allow instructional content to be user determined.

Part 2:

Resource room area where annual goal, short term objective, lesson plan, teaching suggestions, and reading list are presented for each of the ten modules. Great for parents as well as teachers and graduate students!

Sbase -- An open-ended, logical record keeping system for monitoring user performance on FACTS+.

Part 4:
